Jt + Ann's wedding day in Columbus, Ohio



It's just not every day that a bride texts me two weeks before their wedding and says "So what do you think about a helicopter ride directly after the ceremony." But Anna is just cool like that.


My response was immediately "girl I love it but I am horrified of heights" and I am. Within seconds, I was texting the second shooter asking if she'd like to go up in the helicopter with Anna and JT. The answer was "YES!"


So boom. I was immediately looking up photos of couples in helicopters and grabbing all of the timeless inspo from Pinterest of helicopters on wedding days. Each day until the wedding, I was telling my friends and family about the helicopter and how excited I was to capture the fun, adrenaline filled moment for this incredible couple.

Let's backtrack to getting ready!!



When I arrived at Anna’s getting-ready Airbnb, I was welcomed by the sweetest group of girls—instantly warm, fun, and full of excitement for the day ahead. We laughed, danced, took photos, and I did what I love most: quietly capturing the real, candid moments as they naturally unfolded. As Anna slipped into her dress, her mom’s eyes welled with tears, and her sister beamed from across the room. It's a moment I’ve seen at many weddings, but somehow, it never loses its magic.


Outside the window, in the backyard, Anna’s bridesmaids were hyping her up with the kind of energy only your closest girls can bring. Thankfully, Mickenzie—my second shooter—was out there capturing it all while I stayed inside with Anna. That’s the beauty of having multiple photographers: while I focus on the quiet, emotional moments, someone else is catching the joy happening just steps away. Nothing goes unnoticed.


Meanwhile, JT was at the hotel, getting ready and probably running through every detail in his head. When he arrived at the venue, there was no doubt he was filled with pride. And for good reason—because this wasn’t just any venue. JT built a barn. Built. A. Barn. Not your average rustic setup, but a stunning space complete with a full kitchen, an upstairs apartment, dreamy white drapery, and the kind of natural light photographers dream about. And the best part? It sat right in their front yard. A labor of love, built for the biggest day of their lives.


I’ve had the honor of witnessing so many beautiful love stories, but JT and Anna’s day was truly something different. It was personal, intentional, and full of the kind of love that doesn’t just show up in the big moments—it lives in the little ones, too. From the excitement of getting ready to the pride beaming from JT’s face as guests walked into the barn he built by hand, this day was one for the books. And I’m so grateful I got to be there to capture it all.

When ceremony time arrived, guests made their way to their seats dressed in the most stunning summer attire—some looking as elegant as if we were attending a royal affair. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and warmth, both from the weather and the people who came to celebrate. Under the bright Columbus sun on a 90-degree summer day, heartfelt words were shared by family members, vows were exchanged, and Anna and JT officially became Mr. and Mrs. Schoettmer. It was nothing short of magical.

Let me just say—JT and Anna know how to throw a party. No doubt about it.


Inside the stunning new barn that JT and his brothers built with their own hands, over 200 of their closest family and friends came together to celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs. Schoettmer. The energy was high, the dance floor stayed packed, and every corner of that space buzzed with joy and love. It was the kind of reception you never want to end.


One of my absolute favorite moments? A surprise skit planned by Anna’s dad and grandmother. It was unique, hilarious, and so them—silly in the best way and absolutely unforgettable. It perfectly captured the spirit of the day: heartfelt, full of laughter, and completely true to who they are.
