hey there! i'm sophie. So glad you're here.

the artist and friend behind soph fulk photo

I don’t simply capture images, I craft visual stories that reveal the quiet poetry woven through your most meaningful moments. My work lives where light and emotion meet, where elegance embraces authenticity, and where each frame becomes a timeless piece of art.

I’m Sophie Fulkerson, a wedding and portrait photographer rooted in Columbus, Ohio. With a lens shaped by intuition and intention, I seek out the delicate, unguarded moments, the subtle glances, the whispered laughter, the emotions that speak louder than words. My approach is editorial yet intimate, vibrant yet effortlessly natural.

For me, photography is a collaboration, a shared journey where your truth is honored and elevated. If you believe your story deserves to be seen in its fullest, most beautiful form, then you’ve come to the right place.

"capturing the lives of others is the greatest gift I Will ever offer to the world. photography, to me, is less of a job and more of a service. it's an honor to walk beside clients in their most special moments and freeze time with my camera. I will never take for granted what a rare, unique opportunity this is."

my approach

editing

My photography brings your moments to life in rich, vivid colors—just like your eyes saw them. When you look at my photos, you’ll feel like you’re stepping right back into that exact moment, with greens glowing, colors bursting, and every detail telling your true story. I don’t chase the usual light and airy or dark and moody looks; instead, I capture the perfect in-between—full of life, balanced, and real—so your story shines just the way it happened.

posing

I call my approach “guided candid”—a perfect blend of direction and spontaneity. Instead of leaving you to pose stiffly or hoping for magic to happen on its own, I gently encourage natural, playful moments that bring out your true personalities. Maybe I’ll ask you to run down the sidewalk singing your favorite song or whisper something silly to each other. It might feel a little playful (or even a bit silly), but that’s exactly how we capture real laughter, genuine connection, and those effortlessly beautiful moments—with just the right touch of guidance from me.

leading

I’m confident, intentional, efficient, and yes — a little bossy. I believe your wedding day deserves a photographer who can take charge, keep things moving, and get the photos we need without taking over your day. My team and I see every wedding as an opportunity to serve. We’ll make your family and friends feel valued, handle the hard parts behind the scenes, and think a few steps ahead so you don’t have to. You enjoy your day. We’ll take care of the rest.

delivering

To me, excellent service is about so much more than delivering a beautiful gallery. From detailed guides and helpful tips to a very intentional one-hour planning call, I’m invested in making sure you feel prepared, supported, and cared for from booking to wedding day.

I go above and beyond because you deserve more than a photographer who simply shows up and sends photos. You deserve an experience that feels just as thoughtful as the images.

non-photography reasons you would want to hire me

Because you’re not just hiring a photographer — you’re spending the entire planning process + the most special day of your life with me. It's important we not only have a great client-photographer relationship, but also that we feel more like friends.

I’m a pickleball lover, decaf latte enthusiast, clearance-rack hunter, and self-help podcast junkie. I’ll never say no to ice cream or a sweet treat, and I firmly believe grandma hobbies are the best hobbies — give me euchre or dominoes any day.

I’m Type A on a wedding day and Type B everywhere else, a lover of deep conversation and true crime documentaries, a big advocate for small businesses, and someone who genuinely just loves people.

And lately? I’m really into barre, taking care of my body, and hosting little get-togethers with the people I love.

At the root, I am just a gal who loves people + conversation and happens to know how to take + artistically craft beautiful photos. I always say, "if we don't become friends by the end of this process, I have done something wrong."
